Prévisions météo en montagne

The storm cycle continues

The coastal mountain ranges will remain active this morning with unsettled flurries. There will be lingering flurries over parts of the interior in the aftermath of the last system. We won't have to wait long for the next weather system as it is slated to arrive on the coast this afternoon. The system will continue to impact the coastal regions tonight but with an emphasis of heavier precipitation along the south coast. Expect mild conditions as the system brings in warm air ahead of it.

On Monday, the system will move from the coast to the interior. The coast will develop widespread flurries and freezing levels will fall after the system passes. The interior will see moderate snow and increasing southwest winds (moderate to strong) as the system moves through.

A strong southwest flow (the flow/winds are parallel to the black lines) will feed continuous moisture into BC for today and tonight. The flow pattern will shift a bit on Monday to develop a very weak and brief ridge of high pressure by Monday afternoon. The ridge will help to ease the unsettled flurries in the afternoon and hold back the next weather system from coming into the coast until tonight.
