Mountain Weather Forecast

The Ridge is Here

A very strong ridge of high pressure will make its presence known beginning today. It'll be the first significant ridge of high pressure of the season. This means that conditions will remain dry and freezing levels will begin to rise rapidly. Pacific weather systems are thus directed to the Alaskan Panhandle and southern Yukon with snow or rain today.

The ridge will flatten towards the weekend but will keep southern B.C. warm and dry with valley temperatures rising to the high 20 and low 30 degree Celsius. Northern and central B.C will see more cloud cover and perhaps isolated showers.

The ridge breaks down late Sunday. Temperatures will remain above seasonal for the start of the work week but less so compared to this weekend.
