May 16, 2013 Cleveland. The snow pack is an early spring snowpack, not a late one - lots left. Noted a number of size 2s – 2.5 but not pulling out to ground. Spring time full snowpack release has not happened yet at higher elevations. Avalanche activity was predominantly on the north aspects , started at rocks and stepped down. Cornices were also collapsing

Bryant (Fraser) Lake – upper south bench at treeline (1000 Metres). We had a nice window of weather on Sunday the 27th, temps up to -17 in the sub-alpine; winds light most of the day and unconsolidated low density snow and good ski conditions. Snowing at about 0.5 cm/hr from noon onward with a prolonged graupel event leaving a fairly widespread layer

Just a quick note for now and will get back to you with more info/photos. Received some info today of natural avalanche activity on 15 degree slopes pulling out to ground on the northern side of the pass - goat creek area and south of there- don't know aspect. General conditions low snow year to date, shallow snowpack, faceted, very wind affected

Hi Jane, the conditions in the Ibex area are likely similar to the wheaton valley - shallow and highly facetted with wind blown areas and deeper pockets in the alpine. Anywhere with buckbrush will be facetted to ground and very poor travelling conditions. The other side of the Ibex river from the water survey crossing site has nasty wildfire blowdown
