Strong south winds blowing in mountaintop clouds throughout the day kept temps pretty cool and snow conditions remained hard, except on more southerly aspects later in the afternoon. We found 5" powder over a hard crust in the NW bowl off the backside. Good corn conditions down at treeline on E aspects.
From the parking lot, we could see a shallow slab release on the NE slope just beside the steep ramp/chute that is sometimes skied. No other recent avalanche activity observed, other than wet snow slides in the chutes along Tushi Lake.
Overall, a pretty good day, considering the generally firm conditions. The snowpack is holding up!
