W; 30 degrees; Cross-loaded Slope; Broad Open Basin.
Comment:
had skied one lap down prominent bench. second lap a little higher along ridge. much warmer on the second lap. noticed some point release along rock bands on similar aspect. chose to ski back down ridge. one member of party ski cut just off the ridge. slide propagated fast and ran fast.
WEATHER AND SNOWPACK INFORMATION
Weather:
blue bird warm. light wind out of the NW.
Snowpack:
had dug a quick pit in and open slope lower in the trees ~1800m. found SH layers down 40 and 60cm non reactive to CT. hard shear.
