5 of us headed into Longworth 091219.  Snow was crusty under the big cedars.  Up high it was nice and powdery.  I would say the bulletin for the Cariboos applied  to this area as well.  We saw isolated pockets of windslab forming on north aspects.   Other random amateur observations:

- Winds were gentle from the south.

- Ski pen was 15cm at and above treeline.

- HS is around 2m at treeline.  We dug a quick pit on a north aspect slope.  There was a crust 150cm down with 10cm of facets on top of it.  Snow above that was pretty firm.  We did not do any stability tests.

-   We skied a south aspect slope at treeline and the snow was hard as hell. Not much fun.  But once we got below treeline the snow was good until back in the cedars.

- Ski out along the cattrack was fast and fun with the crusty conditions.  There's some blowdown on the trail so maybe the next group can bring a chainsaw with them.

- No avalanche observations.

- Crossed a small north aspect slope at treeline and the snow was crusty and sounded hollow.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Thanks for the obs, can you describe a bit where Longworth is? I am imagining near the McGregors but not sure.
