Here's a few obs of snowpack and terrain, from last few days.... pretty good late winter conditions overall. Babines: Sledding in here friday, doing some ATES terrain ratings. 5-10cm of new from convective squalls thursday. Noted an isolated Size 1.5 slab, out of a windoaded feature, beside Slide Hill. Skilokis Area: well settled pack, with pretty good coverage. Noted Surface Hoar growth in all open Alpine bowls, on North aspects, 3-5mm size. Almost corn snow on lower elev SW aspects. Toboggan Glacier: Windpressed from katabatic downflows. Was a fairly large ice avalanche sometime last month likely, up to Size 2.5, ran almost to bottom of glacier with TV and fridge sized chunks. Seracs are becoming active with temperature swings now in spring. The Toboggan Creek road, is more/less impassable now at the first avalanche area, below the low elevation cliffs. Numerous size 2's on road from mid week warming likely. Transition into spring. We've had low avalanche hazard last while. With some of the Surface Hoar I saw, and frozen Crusts on south aspects, keep a heads up if we get a round of snowfall here in the next bit, as these will make excellent bed surfaces for future load, if we get anything significant.
